This will give your valve cover the OEM look. Once it is masked off, paint the valve covers following the directions on the can. You want to apply fairly heavy coats, but not so much that the paint runs. Heavy coats are what will allow the paint to wrinkle. 2-3 coats every 5-10 minutes should be plenty. Wipe the valve cover's surface, then using a grease remover, you can use wax as well. I wanted to replicate the OEM 4V cover finish, which isn't a wrinkle finish but a cast metal finish. The SEM texture paint gives more of that finish than wrinkle paint.

Even Dawn detergent will do. 2: Scuff everywhere with a 3M scuff pad. I used the red one. Make sure you get every crevice, and rough it up plenty. 3: Clean again with a lint free rag and some acetone or isopropyl alcohol.
