I chose the New Generation Stealth Black Maverick 88 12 Gauge Tactical Shotgun Conversion Kit from Ultimate Arms Gear. It comes complete with everything i\I wanted, plus a laser and shell holder that I didn't necessarily want but for the price of the kit went with it. This is what I received for $138.99 shipped:The Maverick 88 pump-action shotgun has a magazine capacity of six to eight shells, depending on the model. This firearm comes with a factory installed "magazine capacity reduction plug." It's really no more than a wooden dowel with a rubber ring attached on each end, which keeps the owner from inserting more than two shells at a time.

This is great since the 500 can't add extensions to it without getting a new barrel and mag tube. This extra capacity may not matter much to some, but I like it. The downside to this is that it does make the gun more front heavy.The Bad News. The Maverick 88 is pretty light as far as 12-gauge shotguns go. The hollow plastic stock, aluminum receiver ala all the other Mossberg pump guns, and thin-walled barrel make for a pretty handy shotty. It comes at a price though. The gun bucks pretty good with full power buckshot and slug loads.
