Mrs. Joan Russell Brooks Johnson, 74, a resident of Lexington, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Watauga Medical Center in Boone, NC. She was born on August 4, 1947 in Wilkes County to the late James Russell Brooks and Mae Bumgarner Brooks Vanhoy. Joan worked many years for Royal Development and also was part owner of RJ Tree Services.She is survived by : her brother Buck Pierce (Nancy) of Thomasville.
