The labor charge seems high, but I don't know what the exchange rate is or normal labor charges in your country. livsjk.Front diff leak? I just drove 2 hrs at 65, temps 5 to 20 F. When I pulled into the garage I smelled the fluid and found fluid dripping from between the front and center skid plate. The install when perfect, but I now have a 1 drop every 5-7 seconds from the front axle where the flange is. It appears that the flange pulled out from the differential about 1 inch, and is dripping from that point. Can I just push/knock the flange back over to the differential?Dont think so. I think the diff sits too far back for the font seal to be leaking onto it. Other than the seal or the axle spline being grooved I cant think of anything else that would cause it. I think there have been have been a few members that had problems with the outer seals on the front diff leak I maybe mistaken though but thats your best bet if its thick and has a strong smell to it, it's most likely gear oil.This isn't really an easy fix. There is a lot of disassembly required to remove the axle tube to fix the leak. I've seen people pull the plastic part away from the case and squirt RTV around it and bolt it back on. There seems to be fluid leaking out (slowly) from where the driveshaft goes into the diff. Most 4-wheeler problems are caused by a loose nut connecting the handlebars and the seat!! You only need two tools in life -- WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.It looked like my axle seal was leaking until I got everything torn apart and cleaned up--only to realize it was actually the pinion seal leaking. This leads me to believe the origin is above the standing level of the fluid. After cleaning and observing, the leak seems to come from the top area of the lock actuator, about 2 o'clock when looking from rear towards front of car.
